Mr. Tamal Pathak

Tamal Pathak is someone who believes that real change begins in the small, often overlooked corners of society. For more than 17 years, he has been working closely with families, children, and vulnerable communities listening to their stories, learning from their struggles, and standing by them as they rebuild their lives.

As an Assistant Manager at Bandhan-Konnagar, Tamal helps run poverty alleviation and community development programmes, but he sees his work as more than a job. For him, it’s a commitment to making sure every person gets a fair chance to live with dignity. His experience stretches across child protection, skill development, rural development, and social research, shaped by his academic journey in Anthropology and Human Development Studies.

Tamal has also taught students at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (SVE), sharing ideas about child development and protection subjects that he deeply cares about. In every role, whether as a trainer, coordinator, or field worker, he carries the same belief: every individual has a story worth understanding.

On his blog, Tamal writes about people, resilience, community experiences, and the everyday realities of social change. His reflections come from the grounds conversations with community members, visits to villages, moments of hope, and lessons learned from real-life challenges.

Outside work, he loves observing human behaviour, exploring social issues, and finding beauty in simple, human moments.
