BEP(Bandhan Education Program)

Jyoti, a nine year old girl always dreamt high of her future. At the tender age of six, she lost her father. Her mother also passed away a few days later. At present, she lives with her grandmother.
Jyoti always wanted to study so that she could take care of her grandmother when she grew up. Recently, Bandhan had opened up schools through its Bandhan Education Program and was encouraging children to come and join the schools.

Learning upon Bandhan Education Program (BEP), Jyoti's grandmother approached Bandhan's Education Officer and got Jyoti admitted to a school situated close to her house.
Today, things have changed for Jyoti and her grandmother. Jyoti attends her morning school regularly. She finishes all her homework in the class itself. Jyoti's monthly progress is tracked and discussed in the monthly parent-teacher meeting. Parent teacher meetings are attended by the parents as well as some of the local elites of the village.
Jyoti is a serious and good student, her teacher says. "She studies hard and does not miss a single day in school. She will become a teacher and the determination is revealed in her innocent eyes. "
